In- Clinic Services:
This is the traditional stand-alone treatment or service plan. Based on the your specific situation, you will be recommended and have the choice to access any of our available practitioners and wellness specialist:
♠ TCM/Acupuncturist – acute or chronic pain, systematic health issues, such as fertility issue, eczema, weight loss, cosmetic, pediatric, gynecological problems, impotence, diarrhea, and any other 
health problem. Either needle or moxa or cupping will be used based on the diagnosis. Herbal tea or herbal medicine might also be provided depending on the practitioner.
♠ Massage Therapist: help clients to relieve pain, rehabilitate injuries, reduce stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness. Each massage therapist might employ slightly different techniques such as meridian tuina, original point massage, acupressure, sports injury massage, or gentle muscle massage. Once you become one of our members, you can try different massage therapist at different locations.
♠ Physiotherapist: drug-free health care, helping our clients to break down the barriers to physical function and come back from various illness, injury, industrial and motor vehicle accidents and age related conditions
♠ Chiropractor: use hands-on spinal manipulation and other alternative tools to help our clients with proper alignment of the body’s musculoskeletal structure, particularly the spine, which will enable the body to heal itself without surgery or medication.
♠ Osteopath: form of drug-free non-invasive manual medicine that focuses on total body health by treating and strengthening the musculoskeletal framework, which includes the joints, muscles and spine. Its aim is to positively affect the body’s nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems.
♠ Naturopath Therapists: a form of alternative medicine that employs an array of pseudoscientific practices branded as “natural”, “non-invasive”, or promoting “self-healing”. The ideology and methods of naturopathy are based on vitalism and folk medicine, rather than evidence-based medicine
♠ Occupational therapist: help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working, esp. patients involved in motor vehicle accidents (MVA), working (WSIB)
♠ Podiatrist/Chiropodist: focus specifically on the foot and ankle diagnosis, treatment as well as nail and skin concerns, to promote healthy, pain-free feet. (orthotic/orthopedic shoes or shoe modification is included)
♠ Reflexology: focus on meridian acupressure or massage to areas on the feet or the hands to help promote foot circulation, improve sleeping, relax and alleviate stress. (The theory behind reflexology is that areas of the foot correspond to organs and systems of the body)
♠ Facial and head massage: gentle facial and head massage plus beauty application will help people esp. women better relax, reduce headaches and stress, maintain healthy facial skin – which greatly helps them build up their self esteem and sense of wellness
Other supplementary pain and stress relief methods include our Qi machine, thermal therapy, breathing techniques, exercises, education and wellness products etc.
MVA (Multi-disciplinary management program):
In this program, pain management specialists from a variety of fields, under the general coordination of a case manager, work together to help you manage pain more effectively- this is especially designed for MVA clients.
Evidence is showing that multidisciplinary pain programs are better for patients than the piecemeal approach to pain management that has been the norm up to now. A recent review of medical studies comparing the two approaches found that multidisciplinary pain programs are far superior to standard medical treatment.
In GTA Pain Rehab Center, our typical multi-disciplinary pain management program includes:
. A primary care professional who help you with diagnosis and assessment, and suggest your treatment plan
. Pain management specialist such as TCM acupuncturist, Registered Massage Therapist, Physiotherapy specialist, chiropractor, etc. depending on your specific need
. Occupational therapist or physical specialist who can help guide your recovery and rehabilitation, to help you develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
. Relaxation training and stress management (e.g. with our special Qi machine, herbal heating, TCM breathing and meditation technique, etc)
. Social worker or assistant who help the practitioners with more attentive care of the patient
. A case manager who can help keep all the different pain management efforts organized and coordinated
